Machine Assembler

OakRiver has an immediate opening for a Machine Assembler for mechanical assembly and debug of custom automated assembly equipment. Individual would be responsible for assembling fabricated and purchased parts using assembly drawings and parts lists provided by engineering.

Responsibilities to include mechanical alterations and additions during debug, mechanical fitting, read and interpret engineering drawings, work with mechanical and controls engineers during development and debug, ability to use standard inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, gage pins, height gage, etc.) and demonstrated ability to work effectively with others.

Candidate must be able to skillfully operate tool room equipment such as - mill, lathe and surface grinder (welding experience a plus). Working knowledge of machine control circuits including sensors and PLC’s and extensive experience with custom automatic assembly machines are essential requirements.
Individual will complete machine assembly and must have strong mechanical & pneumatics aptitude. Seeking a self-starter with leadership abilities who has fast, yet detailed and highly accurate assembly skills.

Qualified candidate must have high school diploma or equivalent, degree or certificate from a post high school Technical program preferred, minimum of 10 years hands-on experience assembling automated assembly equipment.


 


Project Engineer

OakRiver has an immediate opening for a full-time Project Engineer for project leadership on custom automation design projects. Candidate will be the primary customer and supplier interface, have the ability to provide leadership to drive project related decisions (technical & non-technical) and develop detailed project plans and specification documents. Job duties also include identifying resources required for project success, executing project plan, and managing quality, schedule and cost.
 
Ideal candidate will have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, experience in Mech Design or Controls Engineering role on Automation projects, and proven “systems” approach to project management. Strong technical background in automation design is required along with proven leadership, planning and organizational skills and the drive to consistently deliver on commitments.
 
Qualified candidate will have a BS or MS in Engineering discipline and 3 - 6 years of relevant experience and must be eligible for permanent work in the United States.


 


Materials Coordinator

OakRiver has an immediate part-time opening for a Materials Coordinator beginning at 20-30 hours per week. Position requires a 2 year college degree or equivalent experience.

Job Duties:

  • Create requisitions based on engineering and planning inputs
  • Place POs, confirm and follow-up with vendors
  • Manage the MRB database updates and track day to day status of returns, process adjustments to inventory, publish monthly MRB reports
  • Provide back-up to inspection, calibration/preventive maintenance and shipping and receiving activities
  • Interact internally with materials, quality, manufacturing, AP, shipping and receiving areas
  • Special projects as assigned

SUMMARY: Reporting to Vice President of Sales, this position is responsible for developing selling opportunities and closing sales on OakRiver Technology equipment, services and capabilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Meet or exceed company sales objectives and develop a profitable sales/business base for the company
  • Identify business opportunities which are compatible with OakRiver Technology capabilities
  • Develop and qualify customer requirements on current and new projects
  • Identify and maintain knowledge of key contacts within accounts and establish multi-level relationships with key personnel, manage ongoing communications and direct contact with existing and potential clients
  • Provide input as appropriate regarding market, business, client and company needs in order to ensure OakRiver maintains a leadership position. Maintain an awareness of all competitive activities e.g. performance, pricing, positioning, and related information
  • Secure all pertinent purchase orders and contracts necessary to consummate a sale and deliver products or services
  • Gather, with the support of an Applications team, all information required to develop compelling solutions for proposals
  • Maintain consistent, detailed, ongoing communications with OakRiver personnel as it relates to conducting business and assessing client needs.
  • Attend industry trade shows and training as requested
  • Maintain and expand personal knowledge base through periodicals, trade publications and business seminars
  • Performs other duties as assigned


REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and/or relevant years of experience in similar engineering/technical/sales role
  • 2-10 years of experience which may include the following:
    • Direct selling of services
    • Seeking out and successfully securing new business
    • Successfully managing multi-layered customer accounts
    • Project Engineering with a desire to move into a customer facing role
  • Ability to travel 50% to 75% of the time in assigned territory
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiar with sales documentation systems or willing to learn

The successful candidate must have a “can do” attitude with a desire to quickly learn the company’s services and value proposition. We are looking for someone who is a natural engaging sales “hunter" with high energy, who is a results oriented top-tier performer, and fundamentally “gets it”.  Strong character and professionalism is a must.  He/she will preferably have experience identifying and maintaining key contacts and establishing multi-level relationships with key personnel within an account.  Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with outstanding negotiating savvy and a take-charge attitude is important. The ideal candidate should be able to understand financial dynamics to ensure targeted results (cost estimates, margins, profit, etc.) and posess strong analytical skills to analyze business and conduct due diligence on potential business opportunities. The successful candidate should be organized, efficient, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

 

Design Engineer

OakRiver is seeking an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer to develop mechanical automation designs from customer specifications, conduct design reviews with customers, use analytical tools to assist in the design process, and interface with suppliers.

Ideal candidate will have experience with 3D CAD modeling packages – Solidworks and Unigraphics a plus.  Candidate will have the ability to manage an automation design from the concept phase through modeling and detailing.  Experience in a “systems” approach to automation design and the drive to consistently deliver on commitments is required.

Qualified candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience and have a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.

 



Service Engineer

OakRiver is seeking a Service Engineer for system service of various technologies: multi-axis motion control, image processing, vision-guided robotics and industrial instrumentation & automation control. Candidate will provide system programming PC/PLC/motion/vision for troubleshooting or upgrades. Additionally, position will include interfacing with customers and project team on technical projects and some travel, primarily local.

Ideal candidate will have strong electromechanical aptitude and interest/experience in the application of motion control, robotics, PLC/PC programming, and/or vision applications to accomplish customer requirements. In addition, solid organizational and strong troubleshooting skills are required, along with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment with a wide variety of applications. Knowledge/experience with Adept, Allen-Bradley, Compumotor, and/or Cognex/DVT is a plus.

Applicants must have a BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a control system emphasis and 1 to 3 years experience. Intern or Co-op experience is highly desired.
 



Systems Engineer

OakRiver is seeking an Entry Level Systems Engineer for control system design and application of various technologies. Technologies include multi-axis motion control, image processing, vision-guided robotics, and industrial instrumentation & automatic control. Candidate will have ability provide technical direction in a team-oriented work environment, interface with customers on technical projects, provide system programming PC/PLC/motion/vision, and startup/commission machine control systems.

Ideal candidate will have strong electromechanical aptitude and will have interest/experience in the application of motion control, robotics, PLC/PC programming, and/or vision applications to accomplish customer requirements. In addition, solid organizational skills along with a strong desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment is required. Knowledge/experience with Adept, Allen-Bradley, Compumotor, and/or Cognex/DVT a plus.

Qualified candidate will be entry level (up to 5 years of experience) and have a BS or MS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with control system emphasis.
